ABOUT
Rider Ventures, established in 2015, is located in Coldstream, BC with an Inter-community Business License for the Central Okanagan Regional District. Our First Nations crew enables us to provide services on Okanagan Nation Alliance, Secwepemc Nation, and Nlaka’pamux Nation Band Lands.
Rider Ventures provides professional wildfire and flood protection services to government agencies, corporations, and private property owners. We accept large projects (complex, multi-treatment) and small projects (short-term, low-budget). Our services include forestry and consulting, emergency response, training, and overhead personnel.
We provide multi-trained crews invested in performing their duties efficiently, safely, with integrity, and by utilizing traditional indigenous land stewardship practices. Our specialized teams include 5- and 20-person fire suppression crews, structural protection crews, flood control crews, recognized instructors, overhead personnel, experienced consultants, and first-aid attendants with Mobile Treatment Center. Our crews are always on call and can deploy teams within 12 hours of initial contact.

Flood Emergency Response, July 2018 - Present
The Okanagan Indian Band began working with Craig Moore and Rider Ventures during the Spring of 2018. During the flooding we enlisted Rider Ventures to assist with establishing flood protection measures and establishing relationships with our community in the process. We have continued to utilize Rider Ventures to complete our flood remediation works. In the process of completing the work, Rider Ventures and Craig Moore have shown the upmost professionalism and completed the work to higher than expected levels. Craig went above and beyond to establish relationships with our community members and we have had several calls for them thanking Craig for his efforts. Okanagan Indian Band would hire Rider Ventures for further work as their work has been exemplary.

Group Training, April 2018 - Present
Craig Moore and his team from Rider Ventures provided on-site training which was a composite model of field work and in class mentorship. He worked with Splatsin band members to bring them to full completion and graduation, a 100% success rate. The Rider Ventures team was able to create a community awareness of emergency training needs, facilitate community-based learning programs, manage community level meetings for the greater population base, as well as help to educate informed, capable, and trained individuals. Those individuals have since gone on to find employment and they have self-reported both the love of the industry, the incredible program and mentorship, and excitement at availability of work upon training completion. The same community members have expressed excitement at future program and continuation of learning, and the message has reached a wider cohort of interested band members. The Rider Ventures crew brought a unique training program to Splatsin and we developed a hybrid model that was both new, profound and brought confidence and ability to our band membership.
